Ricardo Garcia

When we embrace challenges we open ourselves up to special opportunities – to learn, to grow, to develop resilience, and to be empowered. In modern society, the nature of the conflicts that we’re presented with is unique; in that we’re regularly tasked with overcoming adversity while maintain a true essence to our individual being. My paintings embody the passion, awareness, vulnerability, and strength associated with the contemporary struggle.

A native Angelino I brings both darkness and vibrancy to my work, utilizes my paintbrush as a vessel to bring audiences on a journey towards discovery. My works tell stories that range from vanity and consumerism, to freedom and love.  For critics and art enthusiasts alike, the experience of viewing my work is as much about connecting my vision as it to one’s own beliefs and feelings. Best known for my infatuation with lines, each of my brush strokes serve a purpose; capturing unique emotions one moment at a time. I believe, “lines have their own life.” With this mantra, it becomes clear why all of my work is so unique.

My on-canvas stories challenge the status quo. They spark changes in the ways that people engage with art. To date, My work has been on display in both solo and group exhibitions across the United States and Mexico. Additionally, I have garnered media coverage and reviews from countless national publications and news outlets – receiving acclaim for his heartfelt and powerful work.

Still, my focus remains on the means in which I best expresses myself to the world – using the canvas as a platform to address sensitive topics, explore the depths of my truth, inspire others to think freely, and to create a meaningful legacy through my painting.
