In his early career, Robert made a name for himself as one of a select few photographers to experiment shooting editorial with a wide-angle lens against creative and provocative backdrops. These visionary works resulted in a constant shuttle between Los Angeles and Milan: shooting couture in Italy, swimwear in Brazil, and on the pages of over 50 magazines throughout Europe.
In addition to publications, Robert’s work has been featured on numerous billboards and was chosen to be included in Shoreline, the acclaimed compilation piece from B. Martin Pedersen (Creative Director for Graphis Press), featuring some of the “most important photographers from around the world.”
Robert’s training includes photography studies, under Dan Morrill, at the prestigious American Academy of Art in Chicago. Furthermore, as a working photographer, he had the rare and coveted opportunity to assist the legendary George Hurell.
On a personal note, Robert currently resides in Los Angeles with his newly adopted Beagle-mix, Katrina, a survivor of 2005’s devastating Hurricane Katrina. When not working, Robert spends much of his time volunteering on behalf of cuddly creatures big and small with Last Chance for Animals, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating animal exploitation.
